EAGA Header

The Eastern Amputee Golf Association (EAGA) was formed by Bob Buck, retired National Amputee Golf Association's Eastern Trustee, and others who were interested in developing a regional amputee golf association. The EAGA was formed along the same guidelines as that of the National Amputee Golf Association (NAGA) but has its own Officers, Constitution, Bylaws, and Membership Dues. EAGA's prime purpose is to organize and conduct amputee golfing events and "Learn to Golf" clinics for any physically challenged individual, provide communication between its members and act as a bridge between its members and the National Association. The EAGA also assists NAGA in conducting the "First Swing” seminars for rehabilitation, parks and recreation, and golf professionals.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCMENT

2012 Eastern Regional Amputee Golf Championship

Saucon Valley Country Club, Bethlehem, PA

July 22nd, 23rd & 24th, 2012

Dear EAGA Members & Friends,

I am very pleased and proud to announce that the EAGA will be holding its 26th Eastern Regional Amputee Golf Championship Celebration at my home club in Bethlehem, PA.  I am so pleased to invite you and our friends to the Lehigh Valley and Saucon Valley Country Club on July 22nd, 23rd & 24th, 2012.  Saucon Valley Country Club, a wonderful family oriented country club where I learned to swim and play golf almost 60 years ago, has been the host to six USGA Championship Tournaments, the last being the 2009 US Women’s Open.  Special thanks to EAGA Life Member and SVCC President Andy Warner for his kind invitation to host our EAGA Eastern Regional Championship at Saucon Valley.  I look forward to the opportunity to have our amputee golfers compete on our three terrific courses – Grace, Old & Weyhill.  We will hold our Annual EAGA Membership Meeting and 26th Anniversary Dinner & “Hall of Fame” Ceremony Celebration at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem on July 23rd.

Attached you will find your Schedule of Events, Lodging Information, Hotel and Golf Course Directions and a Press Release Poster. I have also attached a PDF copy of an article about Saucon Valley Country Club recently printed the Premier Golf Magazine. There will be room for a total of 92 golfers at 2012 Eastern Regional. For additional information about Saucon Valley Country Club, please feel free to contact our Host & Head Golf Professional, Mike Wood at 610-758-7177 or go to our SVCC Web Site at: www.sauconvalleycc.org.  All the staff and members are looking forward to our Championship at the Club.  The Tournament Entry fee will be a little higher but pretty close to Bethpage & Downingtown.  Scramble fees for Sponsors will be around $240.00 as Club must charge its normal Guest Fee.

I have been able to make arrangements for an “EAGA Tournament Headquarters” hotel rate at the Hotel Bethlehem of $110.00/night plus taxes. For information about the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, please see their Web Site at www.hotelbethlehem.com

We will have our Championship Awards Luncheon immediately following our final round at our Weyhill Guest House, a 200 hundred year old converted farm house.  I am very thrilled to have our EAGA members join us at Saucon Valley and be able to play all three of our wonderful and different courses during our Championship.  I hope you can make for this special event.

Sincerely,

Bob Buck
